Pregnancy, Postpartum, and the Chaos of Parenthood
Individual Care | Telehealth Therapy in New Jersey

Hi!
Welcome to Serene Therapy! I’m Amanda, Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW #44SC06370500) in New Jersey, and the heart behind Serene Therapy.
What makes my practice unique is the genuine, supportive relationship I build with each of you. I strive to create a space where you can be open, honest, and fully yourself, without the judgement, pressure, or the need to have it all figured out. Because let's face it, who really has parenting all figured out?
My Story
Becoming a mom myself has been one of the most amazing, overwhelming, beautiful, and challenging experiences of my life. Parenthood brings so much change. It can change the way you see yourself, your marriage, your friendships, your priorities, and even the person you thought you were. Every day brings something new to learn, navigate, and experience. That’s a big part of why I’ve shifted the focus of Serene Therapy toward supporting parents through these transitions.
No one really prepares you for the identity shift that can come with becoming a parent. You can love your baby more than you ever imagined and still miss parts of yourself. You can feel incredibly grateful and completely overwhelmed. You can feel excited, exhausted, connected, lost, or all of those things in the same day.
Whether you’re navigating the uncertainty and excitement of finding out you’re pregnant, moving through the highs and lows of postpartum, adjusting to the chaos of parenthood, feeling like you’ve lost a piece of yourself, or simply struggling with the everyday challenges of being a parent, I want you to know that you’re welcome here.
You don’t have to have a specific reason to reach out. You don’t have to be struggling “enough.” And you certainly don’t have to have it all figured out. This chapter can be beautiful and overwhelming. It can be joyful and hard. Sometimes it can be all of those things at once.
I’m here to support you through it, because parenthood really does take a village. And if your village is one person right now, that’s okay, too. 🤍

My Approach
Therapy can feel vulnerable and emotionally heavy at times. You can expect a warm and safe space where we can explore difficult experiences, challenge unhelpful patterns, build on your strengths, and make room for lightness, humor, and relief. My goal is to help you feel more grounded and connected to yourself.
My therapeutic style is compassionate, collaborative, and personalized to each individual’s unique needs. I draw from a variety of therapeutic approaches and tailor treatment to where you are, what you’re experiencing, and what feels most helpful.
Psychodynamic Lens
Exploring the deeper roots of emotional distress and how past experiences may continue to influence your thoughts, emotions, behaviors, relationships, and sense of self.
Strengths-Based & Person-Centered
Focusing on your resilience, insight, strengths, and capacity for growth. I believe healing can begin when you feel emotionally safe enough to be genuine, open, and honest with yourself. Creating a sense of safety, trust, and acceptance is an important part of the therapeutic relationship.
